I chose my profile photo from one of my most cherished photos (me and legendary Florida State Coach, Mike Martin) because it reminds me of all the things I strive to be as a coach. Coach Martin is the all time winningest coach in college baseball. This pic was taken on my 30 in 30 tour in the spring of 2019. It was just before he began his last season of coaching. But, more than winning, Coach Martin is one of the most respected coaches of all time, which is even more important to me than winning. When I met him he was humble, down to earth, warm and friendly. It was easy to see that he genuinely cares about people. As a coach, those are success traits I strive to not only be, but also teach my players.

My goal as a coach is to help each of my players reach their fullest God given abilities. At the end of the day, that's all we can ask for. However, underachieving is a terrible thing, so I push my players to strive for more. There is is always more left in the tank! Players who play for me will learn the game at a high level, but they will hear more about becoming a great person than they will about becoming a great baseball player. As a team, we will ALL be working on things together and when you play on my team, you will learn what being a great teammate is all about.

Finally, as your leader, I will serve you. You can't lead people by telling them what to do. You lead people by being the shining example, in every way. I don't believe in double standards, so I will be accountable, just like everybody else.

When I'm looking for players I'm looking for those players who have a burning desire to get better and have a goal to keep playing after high school. I was that kid a long time ago and somebody helped me continue my career. I still remember what it feels like to have those big dreams in baseball out in front of me. I enjoy helping young men reach their goals in baseball.

Over the years, I have been blessed to have personally helped over 500 players get scholarships to play baseball in college, including both of my sons. It's what I love to do.

Besides baseball I enjoy fishing, hunting, kayaking and antiquing with my wife, Dotty. We have been married since 1993 and have three children, Christian, Lexi and Zack. Dotty and I are "empty nesters" and live in Altoona, PA
