I was born in Baltimore, MD but raised in Caracas, Venezuela where I played my youth baseball career. I was offered to sign professionally at 16, but my mother made me finish High School, which was a blessing looking back. I moved back to USA in 1999 when I graduated from High School and I was invited to Spring training by the Dodgers and the Indians but an injury ended my baseball career. I have a passion for baseball and for positively influencing youth through the game of baseball.
After getting married and blessed with three children, I started coaching the game with my first son. This will be my 12th year coaching youth baseball in USA and my first as a US Elite coach. Prior to joining US Elite, I was part of a local youth baseball organization for 12 years where I spent the last five years as president with over 11 teams from 7U-18U.
My true passion and goal lie in developing players while teaching them the intricacies of the game and the importance of doing the little things right. Respecting the game and always playing the game the right way. I also leverage the game to teach the players life lessons to help them grow as a person. Building character is at the epicenter of everything I do on and off the field. I am an old school coach that believes in hustle, discipline, respect, and grit. I also enjoy learning how to leverage the new technology to continue to learn about the game and apply it to how I develop players.
Professionally, I’m a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch and when I’m not on the field, I love spending time with my wife Cindy and three children Miguel, Bella, and Gabe.
