Player Statement

Hi, My name is Justice Laird aka "Jus" or "J". I was born on June 16th 2007 in Erie, Pennsylvania. I am in the 7th grade at Blessed Sacrament School where I play varsity Basketball. I fell in love with baseball the very first time my Dad put a ball in my hand. My Dad would take me to the park and we would play baseball for hours on hours until it was to dark to play. As I got a little older my big brother was my inspiration of playing baseball, he pitched and played outfield for Cathedral Prep. I can remember him winning championships for his teams as a pitcher.

I first started playing organized baseball when I was 5 years old, I played tee-ball for the little Sea wolves. When I was seven years old I started pitching and have loved it ever since. The team I played for and my Dad coached won three championships in a row. My final year of that league was when I was nine and I had over 100 strikeouts for the year. The next year I played for a local travel team called the Erie Outlaws, after my 12U season I really wanted to push myself for greatness so my parents let me tryout for US Elite Team PA. I made the team and have had a couple of practices and even a few games so far. The coaches and players I have met so far have been just awesome. I am super excited to work as hard as I can for my new coaches and team. I think we can really push each other to the next level. This spring I will also be playing on the 7th/8th grade Cathedral Prep baseball team for future Ramblers.

My goals are to get good grades, excel on and off the field and make my parents proud of me. I want to Thank Coach Ott , Coach Gerlott and US Elite for giving me an opportunity to play at a high level at the age of 13 and hopefully for years to come!
